As a continuation of the ninth grade course, American History II will examine and analyze the events and people that shaped the American way of life. Content area spans from the Civil War through the end of the Great Depression. The themes of industrialization, labor, the west , American Expansion, and warfare receive special attention.

The Penns Manor American History II course combined with the Contemporary World History course are affiliation courses within the Penn Highlands Community College associate's degree pathway.
