Alex Polenik, an eighth-grader at Penns Manor, won two events and set a school record in the process at the Mountain Lion Middle School Track and Field Classis in Altoona on Saturday. He won the discus with a school record and personal-best throw of 160 feet, 8 inches, and won the shot put with a throw of 39-8.
