Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope everyone had a fun and safe summer. I am excited for the new school year.
This is going to definitely be the strangest school year that I have ever had. There are a lot of changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Families are offered three learning options for this school year to help meet their individual family needs and concerns. Students have the option of returning to brick & mortar school 5 days a week, attending PMHS classes at home via Google classroom, or attending the PM Cyber School.
Every student will receive a Chromebook this school year. Our teachers have been training very hard to learn Google classroom and other supplemental programs, such as Seesaw, Screencastify, and Kami to make learning easier for students. This year, students will be receiving NEW instruction. We will no longer be doing enrichment and review as we did at the end of last school year.
We have had a lot of questions regarding masks. As per the Governor's orders, everyone who enters the school is required to wear a face covering. The face-covering can be a mask or a shield that covers the mouth and nose. If someone can not wear a mask in our facility, they will need to provide a medical excuse or have it documented in their IEP or 504 plans. Don't worry...students will be given frequent mask breaks! This is going to be an adjustment for everyone. We will get through this!
Hopefully, this school year brings a lot of success to our students. A special thank you to our school board, maintenance staff, and community for their hard work making sure we are ready for this coming school year!
