Penns Manor Area S.D.
2021-22 Closed Days and Remote Instruction Days
In an effort to give students, parents and employees time to plan ahead, we are releasing the following information:
Closed Day is defined as the school district is closed to everyone.
Remote Instruction Day is defined as students will remain at home for the day working remotely online or completing assignments. All students must login in to the Google Attendance classroom and answer the attendance question of the day. Students that are unable to login must submit an excuse with a valid reason for their absence.
Elementary after school activities will be canceled on remote instruction days.
High school activities may or may not be canceled depending on weather conditions. Information regarding high school after school activities will be communicated via Sapphire notification.
1. The first day our community has road conditions that are unsafe due to weather conditions, our school district will be closed. This day will be made up on March 18, 2022.
2. The second day and any additional day(s) our community has road conditions that are unsafe due to weather conditions our school district will operate using a remote instruction day. These days will count as instructional days. All students must login in to the Google Attendance classroom and answer the attendance question of the day. Students that are unable to login must submit an excuse with a valid reason for their absence.
3. Should our school district ever face a school day where there is a shortage of employees to safely operate the school day, the administration will close school for that day. The school day will be made up at a later date for any of the days closed due to staff shortage.
4. The Penns Manor Area S. D. will use the same means of communication as prior years to notify students, parents, and employees of a closed day or remote instruction day (Sapphire Notifications via calls, text message and email, local radio stations, local television stations, school website, Facebook and Twitter).
