Class Rules

Literature 10 Class Rules

Respect Yourself and Others!

Respect your teacher, classmates, the classroom, and yourself.  You must follow all rules outlined by Penns Manor.  Offenses will result in punishment as outlined in the district discipline code in the student handbook.

Be On Time and In Your Seat!

You are to be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.  If you are late to class, you must have a pass from a teacher.  If you are not in your seat when the bell rings and/or do not have a pass, you will be marked as tardy. 3 tardies = detention

Be Prepared!

You are responsible for bringing all your materials (pen/pencil, book, notebook, homework, and Chromebook) to class daily.  You will receive 10 points every grading period for preparation and daily participation, with 1 point deducted for every time you are unprepared or fail to make up work when absent. If you are unprepared or don’t make up work more than 10 times, you will be assigned detention.

Class Time is NOT Restroom Time!

Permission to go to the restroom will not be given when the teacher is teaching in front of the class.  If you need a restroom pass, please wait until the end of an activity.  Only one student will be allowed out of the classroom at a time. Constant requests for a pass or extremely long restroom breaks will result in the denial of restroom privileges.

Keep Cell Phones and Earbuds Off During Class!

Cell phones and earbuds are not to be used in class unless the teacher gives permission.  Photos and videos are also not to be taken during class. Chromebooks should only be used when needed for class activities or during non-instructional time.

Do Your Work!

Two points will be deducted from assignments that are one day late.  You will only receive half credit for assignments that are more than one day late. Detention may be assigned to students missing 3 or more homework assignments.

If you are absent, you are responsible for accessing missed material on Google Classroom and turning it in.  You have the number of days absent to make up your work. All classwork and assignments will be posted to Google Classroom.

If you are absent during a test day, you are responsible for arranging to make up the test during Flex or study hall.  Students who are unsatisfied with their test grades may also complete one retest during these times.  There will be no make-up tests or retests 2 weeks after the original test date. Cheating, use of AI, or plagiarism results in an automatic 0%. Grades will be posted on Sapphire.

Be Organized and Take Good Notes!

It is very important that you take excellent notes and keep organized.
