"The Children’s Advisory Commission of Indiana County is excited to launch our 'Stand Strong: Why I Say No' student contest for students in grades 9–12 across Indiana County.
This contest gives students an opportunity to use their voices and creativity to share why they choose to live substance-free and encourage their peers to make healthy, positive choices. Students will submit a short message explaining why they say no to drugs, opioids, alcohol, tobacco, or vaping. Their responses can focus on their goals, role models, health, values, or anything else that inspires them to make positive choices.
Two students from each Indiana County school district will be selected as winners. Each winning student will have the opportunity to choose either a life-size cutout of themselves or a banner featuring their image and quote to display at their school as a positive message and source of inspiration for their peers.
Important Dates:
Entry Deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:59 PM
Winners Announced: By Friday, October 30, 2026
Our goal is to give Indiana County students a platform to stand up, speak out, and be positive role models for their peers, and your help in spreading the word will make a meaningful difference."
