Senior Planning Information and Checklists

  • Senior Action Plan

All seniors will have a senior interview and will meet individually with your counselor. During this meeting, we will review your courses, credits, GPA, and future plans. Students are encouraged to fill out a transcript release form found in the Forms section of the Guidance webpage so they may send or obtain a copy of their transcripts. A downloadable senior checklist is also provided at the bottom of this page.

  • Scholarships and Awards

A monthly scholarship bulletin of all scholarships we are made aware of both online and is also available on file in the Guidance Office. All seniors are shown how to access the scholarship file during their senior interviews and are encouraged to check the bulletin frequently. Students are still encouraged to search for any scholarships that might not be listed on the bulletin. Local scholarships are made available each March. Students have the month of March to complete and submit their applications. Seniors must also inform the Guidance Office of any awards or scholarships they are receiving if they wish to be recognized for them at the Senior awards ceremony.

  • Job Shadowing/College Visits

Students who are college bound are also encouraged to complete job shadowing and campus visits during their senior year. These activities must first be approved before attending so please notify the Guidance Office to ensure that any required paperwork is completed.

  • IUP Career/College Fair

All seniors will have the opportunity to attend the IUP Career/College Fair in October of each year. Please complete and return the provided permission slip when it is provided.

  • College Representative Visits

Throughout the school year, various colleges and educational institutions will visit Penns Manor. Students are encouraged to sign up to meet with these colleges in the Guidance Office to learn about potential opportunities provided by each of these institutions. Announcements will be made about dates and times when these colleges will be visiting.

  • Financial Aid

Students who are planning to attend a postsecondary institution should complete the FAFSA financial aid form early in their senior year. Please visit https://www.pheaa.org/ for more information. In addition, a Financial Aid Night is scheduled and announced each fall for all senior students.

  • Military and Service Academy

Students who are planning on attending any military academy should notify the Guidance office as soon as possible. Students who are also seeking a recruiter can also visit the Guidance office for assistance.

  • Workforce Students

Students who are planning to enter the workforce directly after high school can see the Guidance Office for assistance with finding employment through Careerlink.

  • Student-Athletes Playing Division I-II sports

Students who are planning on participating in Division I or II college athletics MUST visit the college NCAA Eligibility Center website and complete all requirements at https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/ by the fall of their senior year. Students declaring eligibility must also notify the Guidance office so that transcripts can be sent in a timely manner. Failure to do so may cause the student to be ineligible to participate in college athletics.
